I couldn't figure out what to do for my triptych painting so I went back to my first muse today and I now know what I am going to do. I took these pictures today for inspiration. I think I may use the second one as a reference. The first one is just fun.
I have these three ugly cabinet doors that I got from a habitat for humanity surplus store, which are so wonderful, so those will be my canvasses. Very similar to the little door I painted the portrait on last week (scroll down for that one), except much taller.
I spent probably four hours on the one, and the flanking ones will have a similar treatment, but luckily they have all the seasons of Arrested Development online, so I can just paint and watch Arrested Development all day. These are going to be somewhat like altar pieces of the old Catholic tradition. Pre-raphaelite kind of idea. Except with winnebagos and 1970's graphic aesthetic applied to them.
